- If you can think of a “how would racism be displaced onto an alien race” idea it’s probably in here (also, a wheelchair-using student bullies the Newcomer’s daughter)
- They resolve the conspiracy (which is an extension/revision of the original film’s plot) in a several-minute-long monologue over slow motion shots of the characters realizing who is guilty
- there is a plotline that involves the apparent transformation of a Newcomer into a giant insect and the costuming is very 1990s monster of the week show, and just as I was thinking “You know, I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be real or a person in a costume” they pulled a piece of velcro off of it and realized it was a fake monster meant to stir up animus against the Newcomers
I might as well watch some more.
