part of what keeps me from going all in on Making a Website is I do sort of have a creative web outlet in my day job, part of which is the building and maintenance of an asp.net webapp for research administration. But there’s no, like, oversight on my part so i literally just get to sit down with people and be like “ok let’s talk about what tools can make your job easier” and then I just…build stuff specifically for those people, and how their brains and jobs and hands work!
and it’s kind of rewarding to empower people in that small way, when so much of our jobs and experiences are like…comporting ourselves to a best-practices (if we’re lucky) generality
like…here is a space where this can be what you want it to be, what makes sense to you.
(this obviously is not ideal from a scale or maintenance or a million other standpoints, but for the ten people in my office I think they appreciate it)
