Game Design: Musical Temperatures (Farenheit only, I guess)

1. Choose a weather service and a location
2. Check that weather service at the same time each morning, taking note of the day’s High and Low temperatures.
3. If either is over 100F, subtract 100
4. Add either 1900 or 2000 to the temperature, giving you two years in the 20th and 21st century
5. Listen to an entire album or song from each year
6. If you can’t find one, you can swap the tens-and-ones-places around

Example: Weather dot Com’s May 18th, 2026 11:10AM Eastern high and low for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania are 91 and 69, giving the years 1991 and 1969:

1. 1991: My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless, ur-text for shoegaze
2. 1969: The Band’s The Band ur-text for an entire “what if we were western and wore suspenders” musical aesthetic of the early 2000s

Alternate Rules:

1. Find a list of GREAT ALBUMS or billboard charts or something and use that as your table from which to pick music from that year
2. Only listen to albums that are new to you
3. Just put your sptoify on shuffle and let it serve you ai-generated blandness, you soulless freak I hate you
