Clair Obscur (spoilers obvs)

I chose the Maelle ending.

I think it’s kind of weird that the ultimate takeaway here appears to be: Maelle and her mother were unable to process their grief and move on, her father and the fictional version of her brother were right about that.

It feels maybe a little disappointing? to spend all that time with the character of Maelle, see her make choices including honoring the desire for oblivion of the painted version of her, only to have her journey end with her repeating the failings of her mother and the fears of her father.

An imagination of a child’s future truly limited to their parents’ conception.
